Mark Williams, MComm – Wealth Manager
Mark’s career in finance began while undertaking his Master’s Degree in Commerce (Business Management). At the time, he was working as an assistant to the financial manager of CSIR – a position that he was later offered but declined. Instead, he joined Old Mutual in January 1995, first as a financial adviser and later as district manager.
During this time, he qualified as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and completed a series of post-graduate studies. These included the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning and the Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Law.
Old Mutual appointed Mark as manager of a team of advisors for MINT, the company’s first wealth management division.
He left the company in January 2004 to start an independent wealth advice business.
Vanessa Williams, Hons B.Econ – Operations Manager
Vanessa has an honours degree in economics and is co-founder and co-owner of MW Wealth. Her purview is as operations manager, a role that evolved following the disposal in 2011 of her short-term insurance practice.
At the time, demand required greater focus on bespoke investment services and streamlined administration.
Vanessa’s experience makes her an astute partner and manager of business processes, compliance, human resources, finances and day-to-day needs of the enterprise.

Martie Blignaut - Client Relationship Manager
Indispensable to the firm, Martie’s enthusiasm and pleasant demeanour complements her skills as a very capable and efficient administrator driven to exceed client expectations.
She was born and raised in Klerksdorp where she spent 20 years working for Anglo Gold Ashanti. She re-located to the Cape and has been with MW Wealth since 2010.
Lee-Handre Van der Merwe - Client Relationship Manager
Lee-Handre joined MW Wealth in 2011, and through her proficiency and professionalism in client service has become indispensable to the firm.
She was born and raised in Kimberly. Her administrative career path took her to Stellenbosch and then MW Wealth, where she has become a valuable member of the team.
